Latest information when flying to Inverness

Ensuring our passenger’s safety is our utmost priority – below is a list of important considerations to keep in mind when travelling TO Inverness Airport:

Do I need to wear a face covering within the terminal?

Yes, in line with current guidance you will be required to wear a face covering from the moment you enter the terminal building until you depart the destination airport at the end of your journey.

Will I be required to undergo a temperature check upon landing into the airport?

No, the advice from the UK and Scottish governments, and Health Protection Scotland, is that temperature checks are not currently required at our airports.

Will I need to remove my face covering at any time when going through the airport?

You will not be required to remove your face covering as a matter of course; however you may need to remove it at the request of a member of the security team.  This may be due to the walk through metal detector alarming or to confirm that there is nothing concealed behind your face covering.  You may also be asked to lower or remove your face covering to confirm your identity against your photo ID.

Will the café and shop facilities be open?

Stag and Thistle are currently open airside for all departing flights from Inverness Airport with a selection of food and beverages available.  WHSmith and the Whisky Cellar are now also open.  

Drinking water is available before security and in the arrivals areas within the toilet facilities.  There is also a water fountain within the departure lounge.

Are the toilet and washroom facilities open in the terminal building?

Yes – the toilets are available for use throughout the terminal.  However, the capacity in some areas may be reduced to comply with social distancing.  

Will bus services operate from the airport?

Yes, Stagecoach are still operating services to and from Inverness Airport.  Currently, this is on a reduced schedule so please visit https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/north-scotland/getting-to-inverness-airport-by-bus before travelling.  

Will taxis be available at the airport when I arrive?

Yes, there should be taxis available from the taxi rank outside the terminal building as normal.  The taxi rank is monitored by CCTV and if there are no cars available they will be dispatched for waiting passengers. 

My car hire company says they provide a meet and greet service, will I need to meet them outside the terminal building?

Car hire meet and greet service representatives will no longer meet passengers inside the terminal building.  If your car hire is off-site, please follow the signs to the pick-up shelter in carpark 2.  

Will bus services operate from the airport?
