7 days in Zurich

There are lots of ways to spend seven days in Zurich.  Here are some ideas:

Fly into Zurich from Inverness Airport, arriving at 17:50. Stay at Marktgasse Boutique Hotel and dine in the fabulous Pizzeria Azzuro, one of the city's best restaurants. After dinner, take in the breathtaking views of the city with a drink in the Cloud bar on the 35th floor of the Prime Tower.
Start the day with breakfast at the highly recommended Delish cafe directly below the hotel, then spend the morning visiting the must-see grand churches of Zurich - Grossmunster and Fraumunster. Spend the afternoon on a river cruise, enjoying a leisure tour of the beautiful old town. Warm summer nights are ideal opportunities for a dip in one of the many outdoor pools in the city.
Why not hire a bike from several pick-up points across the city, and spend the morning exploring? In the afternoon, enjoy the culture and history at the Swiss National Museum and trea yourself to some luxury shopping in the Bahnhofstrasse area. A must-see for this afternoon is the Cafe Sprungli for their famous macaroons, followed by dinner at the highly recommended Baltho restaurant.
For a great day out, take a trip to the Zurich Zoo or spend the day on a hiking trail up and around Mount Uetilberg, followed by lunch at the cafe on the summit and various activities to enjoy. A bus tour of the city followed by dinner at the La Soupiere restaurant would complete a memorable day.
On Saturday, you can let your hair down at the world's largest techno party - Zurich's famous annual street parade. This is one of the summer highlights and an unmissable treat for dance music enthusiasts. The parade takes place across the basin of Lake Zurich on Saturday 11th August. If you're looking for adventure instead, try out all the different water sports on offer at Lake Zurich. From wakeboarding to pedal boats and even stand-up paddle boards, there's something on offer for everyone.
Kick off your last full day in Zurich with a visit to the FIFA Football Museum then spend the afternoon at the famous Lindt chocolate factory in Kilchberg. A dinner recommendation for your final night would be the riverfront restaurant Rotisserie zum Storchen, where you can enjoy good food and great views.
Take breakfast by the water before some last minute airport shopping and fly direct back to Inverness Airport, arriving at 13:30 - avoiding the long drive along the A9 or A96.
